Tiffany’s practice is rooted in her Chinese-Taiwanese diasporic lineage and shaped by inherited stories of migration and the search for belonging over the past century. These personal histories form the foundation of her inquiry into how identity is constructed through layered narratives, both intimate and collective.
Tiffany received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015 and her BFA from New York University in 2012. Working primarily in ceramics, she is drawn to surface as a site of accumulation and trace. Expressive markings and experimental glazing techniques create works that hold gesture, memory, and transformation. Before moving to Pittsburgh, Tiffany developed modular, hand-built systems in Taiwan, refining her approach to glazing and surface within the limits of a small studio and kiln. She now works at Eberle Studios, where access to a gas kiln has allowed her to expand into larger singular forms.
In 2021, she co-founded the artist duo Wild Things with Yuchen Jao. Together they explore the material and cultural relationships between ceramics and textiles, examining points of connection and contradiction while challenging disciplinary boundaries.
