MATTHIAS + PISANO

 Clay - Paint - Wood

ONE GALLERY many SPACES

The artistry of MATTHIAS has involved the quiet work of an individual who engages in ceramics, painting, and woodworking. As a multi-disciplinary artist, Matthias values the fluidity of process and materials as remnants of making in his philosophy of creation. The "presence" of this process was developed as he experienced living and working as an artist in four different monasteries. For over thirty years, discerning art collectors and designers in Boston, DC, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh have collected his work privately, through art exhibitions, and in galleries.

Tim PISANO has spent his lifetime working in multiple media: pastel, oil, acrylic, pen, ink, watercolor, and poetry. He describes his work as "Artistic Archaeology". Using paint removed from historic restoration projects that he has worked on over the years, he discovers, much like an archaeologist, colors, shapes, and textures that he uses to create abstract landscapes and seascapes. He is represented in multiple private collections through galleries and through solo and group shows. He accepts private commissions through studio visits at his North Side home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This exhibition is an intersection where the philosophies of these two artists materialize and meet, sharing a space that showcases some of their most recent and meaningful pieces. MATTHIAS will feature his most recent sculptural ceramic and wood work, complemented by his painterly works on paper. PISANO unveils his newest works, which he titles the Silver Lining Series. His works will be complemented by his reflective writing and poetry.

The exhibit opening is Friday Nov. 7th from 6-9pm. Viewing is limited but open to the public on Nov. 7th & 8th from 10-4 PM, and by appointment.
